Disaster Relief
Bristol-Myers Squibb has a long-standing history of providing both cash and product assistance for immediate relief, recovery and rebuilding efforts after disaster situations.
Working through partnerships with several designated non-profit organizations, including the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, Bristol-Myers Squibb responded to several disaster situations in 2008, including:
- Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar
- Earthquake in Sichuan Province, China
- Flooding in Honduras
- Flooding in the Midwest, United States
- Hurricane Gustav in the Caribbean
- Wildfires in California
Our disaster assistance is always a direct response to specific requests from local non-profit groups that are best situated to assess, respond, and prepare for long-term recovery. Our efforts are coordinated with all local, national, and international responders, as well as governmental authorities, to avoid the duplication of effort, the wasting of resources, and logistics bottlenecks.
