Biometrical Sciences
Successfully differentiating our products requires a specialized team with years of experience in clinical trials optimizing the right data. At Bristol-Myers Squibb, statisticians are key participants in the drug development process. We are widely considered experts in the design, analysis and interpretation of biomedical experiments.
“Biostatistics has a history of developing new methodologies to understand challenges in clinical research," says Dominic Labriola, Ph.D., vice president, Global Biometric Sciences. "Our role continues to evolve with the advent of novel trial designs, safety-signal detection methods, and the need to integrate the analysis of large genomics data sets with the safety and efficacy of our medicines, which can support more personalized and targeted medical options.”
Our goal is to design rigorous clinical trials that provide statistically sound evidence of the benefits of our products and evaluate their safety profile. To that end, we utilize new approaches, such as analyzing biomarkers, complex statistical models, simulating clinical trials results, performing meta-analysis and Bayesian adaptive designs. We perform both classical and Bayesian statistical techniques.
We value talented professionals with an ability and interest in working collaboratively on the multi-disciplinary teams that develop medicines to extend and enhance human life. We welcome individuals with knowledge in statistics, biostatistics or clinical programming who possess strong leadership skills.
