- LifeTies – Bristol-Myers Squibb helped this Trenton, N.J., organization provide mental health services for young mothers with HIV/AIDS living at a residential group home.
- University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – A grant to the university’s Student Research Opportunities in Health Disparities Program allowed a deserving student to participate in this summer program designed to introduce students to the field of health disparities research.
- Health Care Ministry of Princeton – Helped this Princeton, N.J., non-profit organization meet increasing demand for its “Rides with Care” program, which provides transportation to doctors offices and other health-related appointments for Mercer County’s frail elderly.
- New Jersey Mental Health Institute – Sponsored a statewide conference on improving the cultural competence of mental health professionals who provide services to African-Americans, Arab-Americans, Asian-Americans, Hispanics and other diverse communities.
- Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton – Supported Shapedown, a health screening and fitness program for overweight or obese children in Mercer County, N.J., who are at risk for type 2 diabetes. The program helps children and their families make necessary lifestyle and dietary changes to promote good health.

- Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness – Helped fund a three-year demonstration project aimed at securing permanent housing for homeless families in the Mercer County, N.J., region.
- Interfaith Caregivers of Trenton – Helped sustain the efforts of this New Jersey non-profit group that recruits and trains volunteers who assist homebound elderly and disabled individuals with daily tasks, enabling them to continue living safely at home.
- Elijah’s Promise – A grant to this New Brunswick, N.J., social services organization supported its Healthy Kitchen initiative, which provides a heart-healthy menu and nutritional counseling for clients of the Elijah’s Promise Soup Kitchen.
- Dress for Success Mercer County – Supported this New Jersey organization – which was founded by a group of Bristol-Myers Squibb employees – to advance its work promoting career development and economic independence for disadvantaged women.
- HomeFront and Rescue Mission of Trenton – Recent grants are helping these New Jersey non-profits provide food and shelter to people experiencing homelessness.
Examples of recent grants to help improve the quality of science and technology education include:
- The BioPhase Project – Bristol-Myers Squibb recently provided grants that purchased lab equipment and other supplies for students at Lawrence Township High School in New Jersey as part of a new biology curriculum.
- Robotics – Grants from Bristol-Myers Squibb sponsored the robotics teams of six central New Jersey high schools.
